Create a Naviagtion Object
To create a navigation object:
While in Edit Mode, select Navigation
from the Object menu.
On the page, drag a rectangle where you want the navigation object to appear.
The Navigation Properties dialog box appears.
At Style select the style the navigation object should be displayed in.
Choose a reference page.
Specify the number of generations and ancestors.
Click Ok.
Example 1
To create a navigation object in which all child pages of the current page are listed:
While in Edit Mode, select Navigation
from the Object menu.
On the page, drag a rectangle where you want the navigation object to appear.
The Navigation Properties dialog box appears.
At Style select Button + Text.
At Reference Page select This Page.
At Number of Generations type 1.
At Number of Ancestors type 0.
Click Ok.
Example 2
To display a navigation object that is only used to display the current page title:
While in Edit Mode, select Navigation
from the Object menu.
On the page, drag a rectangle where you want the navigation object to appear.
The Navigation Properties dialog box appears.
At Style select Text.
At Reference Page select This Page.
At Number of Generations type 0.
At Number of Ancestors type 1.
Use Center Text for Layout (Optional).
On the Input tab, make the object read-only.
Click Ok.
Note
If the current page is displayed in the navigation object, then the title of this page is displayed using the Selection color (as specified on the Color tab). In the second example, the navigation object will always contain the title of the current page, thus if you want to change its color, you should change the Selection color and not the Foreground color.
